Il ha altere hypotheses pro le origine de iste
particula:

Secundo le Diez illo veni de AD + TUNC "a alora". Ma
secundo le Muratori illo es un contraction de AD HUNC
"a iste" (con MODUM "maniera" comprendite).

Finalmente, alteres propone latin DENIQUE
("finalmente") per via de DONIQUE.
