<> Gratias, Mario. Es occhiale similar al anglese "ocular"?
<> Stan Mulaik
<
<No. "Occhiale", as an adjective derived from "occhio", is recorded in the
<dictionary only for completeness, but it is never used. The English
<"ocular" (e.g. the eyepiece in a telescope) goes with the Italian
<"oculare". "Oculare" is both a noun and an adjective from Latin "oculus"
<(eye), just like the English "ocular". So, "occhiali" = "spectacles",
<"oculare" = "ocular". The two words are by no means interchangeable,
<neither are they felt at all as akin to one another in ordinary speech.
<Have fun
