From medical advisory board of Celiac Support Association-for persons with
wheat allergy----clarification of "RESOURCES" article on page 8 of current
issue of LIFEline, the CSA newsletter, 2015, Vol1---the fifth paragraph
discusses possible allergic/anaphylactic reactions to wheat---please note
that in regard to the third and final sentence of that paragraph a
GLUTEN-FREE label does NOT protect against a possible allergic reaction to
WHEAT because other wheat proteins besides gluten can cause allergic
reactions. That sentence should NOT be interpreted that a GLUTEN - FREE
label in all cases denotes a WHEAT-FREE product---the label SHOULD STILL
ALSO be checked for presence of WHEAT as a major allergen
