Thanks again and again to everyone who has responded-- here are some new ideas and ones I might have missed the first time.

It goes without saying but I will say it anyway,  just because these remedies/medications worked for one person doesn't mean they fit all of us.

Avoid:
Sugar
Oats
Caramel coloring

Diagnostic tests that might help:
Elisa Blood panel to identify food antibodies in her blood
ALCAT test for food allergies

Other info about medications/treatments:
Migra-eeze (recommended by a pediatric neurologist- not yet tried-- GF, DF according to the packet)
Imitrix is helpful for hormone induced migraines
Relpax is GF DF
Topomax (a daily medicine)
Tylenol 3 (Hydrocodone) stops the pain
Use Maxalt withTylenol 3 -- stops the pain inside a day with only minor tiredness
Take a multi-vitamin (in case the headaches are related to vitamin/mineral insufficiencies)
Rub Vics on your temples
Accupuncture
Reiki

The Walgreen's generic headache pill recommended previously is called Extra Strength Headache Relief-- and contains Acetaminophen, aspirin, and caffeine as active ingredients
Low Tyramine Headache Diet
Increased fiber (for child- increase to child's age plus 5 grams/day)
Lots of fluid/day (for 100 lbs., 8.25 cups, 120 lbs., 9 cups, 140 lb. 10 cups, 150 lbs, 10.25 cups)
Biofeedback with Relaxation Training Exercises with a trained PhD
Breathing lavender essential oil- place on hand and bring to nose to breathe or apply to neck or temple
Sleep it off
If you go to a massage therapist, specify that massage is not to relax but to mitigate migraines.  Try to find a medicinal massage therapist.

Other interesting Info/advice:
Seek out a Functional Medicine MD - but not always covered by insurance
Migraines may cease after menopause
