Santa Rosa – There are several great restaurants in the “old town”including a Thai restaurant that was GF aware.  Our #1 favorite was LaGare,  [log in to unmask] 
As you head south, there is a GF bakery (completely GF) in SanAnselmo a couple of miles northwest from Highway 101:  flourcraftbakery.com.
San Francisco -- the Fairmont which has a gluten free menu.  Also in SF, near Union Square: http://www.eosanfrancisco.com/ has a gluten free menu.
Recommended by several in Oakland:  Mariposa Bakery, http://www.mariposabaking.com/.  The make GF Biscotti among other things.  Get a warm bagel!
