Car nogometistas,

Quando io viagiava con mi marita a Yugoslavia in 1966
le campionato mundial de ballapede habeva loco.

Nos videva alicun matches (forsan un anglicismo inevi-
tabile in Interlingua, sed in finnese match = ottelu
e in germano Wettkampf, Länderkampf sed etiam Match)
en route in Svedia e Austria e in Yugoslavia
(Croatia), in le plus casos in vitrinas de botecas ...

A mi stupefaction io observava que ballapede
(football) es NOGOMET in croatian. Sed FUTBOL in
serbian. E fotbal in romanian!

In croatian noga = pede e metati
(metat' in russian) = jectar, fundar, lancear.

In russo:

Pulemet (pronunciate "pulyomyot", io
crede) = mitraliatrice.

Granatomet = lancea-granatas (trench mortar in
anglese)
