Io regretta que io non ha plus de informationes super le origines de le forma 
portug(u)ese.

In quanto al francese, le variante, PETIST, appare in le "Les contes moralisés 
de Nicole Bozon" (circa A.D. 1320) 
Conto 111 vs. 12:
