Le Capras e Lor Barbas

Capros habeva barbas e Capras non, e que faceva Capros fer e Capras irate.
Ergo le Capras petitionava a Jupiter pro barbas, e facer illas lasse, ille
las dava capillos de mento. Illas ostentava lor nove vestimentos de festa -
le qual displaceva grandemente le Capros, qui in lor torno iva a Jupiter e
querelava. Jupiter agitava le mano plus fortia.

"Permitte illas haber lor parve monstra," ille diceva al Capros. "Illo es
capillos mermente. Illo non las faceva tanto grande como vos, tanto fortia
como vos, como brave. A las dar le insignia de vostre nobilitate non las
face plus nobile, ni vos minus."

Permitte alteres haber le illusiones e le paraphernales; vos retene le
realitate.

The She-Goats and Their Beards

He-Goats had beards and She-Goats didn't, and that made He-Goats proud and
She-Goats angry. So the She-Goats petitioned Jupiter for beards, and to get
rid of them, he gave them all chin-whiskers. They flaunted their new finery
- which greatly displeased the He-Goats, who in their turn went to Jupiter
to complain. Jupiter waved a mighty wave.

"Let them have their little show," he told the He-Goats. "It is but hair.
It did not make them as big as you, as strong as you, as brave. To give
them the badge of your nobility does not make them more noble, nor you
less.

Let others have the illusions and the trappings; you keep the reality.
