Dear Chi Jamma and the Gambia List - GTS supporters, opponents and doubters.
I have received private messages of the sort below from Chi Jamma, and also
ones from L'ers who have taken the time to visit the GTS site and seen
exactly what we are doing, have done and continue to do, people who have
very kindly offered their support. I have replied to both sorts in private.
As this was a public list message, I am replying publicly.
I have joined the list at a time of great tension, when the use of insult
and hatred is in almost every contribution, a tactic that I fear lowers the
status of the cause being fought by all people, of what ever nationality or
religion on behalf of the Gambian people.
If I were Gambian or even African would you question my motives, would you
suggest that I keep 7-8ths of the contributions made to GTS, or are you
suspicious of all people who are trying to do some good? It is a sad
situation for us all if you are the voice of the majority.
We have all seen corruption in all of its conceivable forms, from people of
every country and race, I am sorry that your trust of humanity is so low.
With wicked people like Mr Ferry (I have not heard of the man) or the Serra
Jarjus adoptive parents, conning people with claims that they are helping
others, I forgive your slanderous remarks, but ask that you base your
opinion of GTS on fact and not on the corruption of others.
If you want references for the work we are doing, please go to our website
and look, please contact the Gambians who are working with us and find out
the sort of people we are. Until then, (when you have discovered the facts)
it may be wiser to be wiser and not indulge yourself in false accusations.
If you judge me in this false way, how can I or anyone else, ever trust what
you are saying about others.
Very often the people you expect to be your natural friends turn out to be
your enemies and those through your own prejudice. you KNOW are your
enemies, turn out to be your friends.
God knows us all, and will judge us all for our thoughts as well as our
deeds.
Francis

> Your organization looks like the many that are out in the U.k to enrich
themselves rather than the Gambian people. You are using the tourist
industry as a bait, can you tell me the persons who you have assisted and
are part of the industry ? The money and the materials you collect who are
the beneficiaries of the 1-8 that is destine for The Gambia ?
> We have seen it all, Organizations like big time hustler like Mr. Ferry
of schools for progress who ran away after collecting millions on our
behalf. The other case among other is the Serra Jarjus adoptive parents etc.
etc. We will surly follow these cases with the authorities as people our
exploiting our ignorance's or should i say weakness.

for Gambians, through the wider aspects of tourism. We try to steer a path
of right and justice, rather than taking a political position the two are
not always easy travel companions - I am sorry if this has offended any of
you, that was certainly not our motive. Nor is it our intention to be
shallow or superficial about Gambian politics, although remaining impartial
can seem that by some.

with the lack of the tourist money that actually gets into the local
economy. GTS is encouraging UK and all tourists back to The Gambia, and
then out into the communities where their holiday money can support more
people. Any politics that affect this trade obviously affects the ordinary
people, which is why we try to remain unbiased, uphold the law, but be
questioning when that law or the spirit of that law is broken.

with undue violence are not unheard of in the UK, but they are the dark side
of power - such things cannot be kept secret for ever, they cannot be
hidden. One day they will be judged. At GTS we try to see and maximise the
good and minimise the bad. Like shop keepers we put their most attractive
and eye-catching wares in the window - we want to sell The Gambia because
that can earn money for local Gambians and improve employment prospects.

materials donated in the UK, to establish a centre to promote education and
the arts and through it's work and enterprise provide increased employment
in the Gambia . We are asking people to help fund the transport costs with
£10 for one inch. If we sell all 240 inches, (the container is 20 foot) we
will raise the £2400 transport costs.

yet others will continue their own work in establishing the best, most

wonderful country to achieve the greatest benefit for all its people.
