site. Mentioned therein is the meeting of Foreign Minister Hon. A.R. Downer
and Commonwealth Ministers in London later this month.
Folks, here's another chance for us to exert more pressure on Jammeh to
release his grip. I urge the MRDG-UK to take up the task to prepare a
situational report for Mr. Downey outlining all the atrocities and
brutalities levied on Gambians since '94. Alternatively, we can resort to
our good ol' petition tactic once again. Now that brother Buharry and
Sidibeh are back!

Downer to discuss human rights issues with C'wealth Ministers
The Foreign Minister, Alexander Downer, will attend a two-day meeting of
Commonwealth Ministers in London later this month.
They will discuss human rights issues and threats to democracy in
Commonwealth countries including Fiji, the Gambia, Pakistan, Sierra Leone
and the Solomon Islands.
Mr Downer will then go to the United States for talks with the Bush
government's foreign, security and trade policy team.
He will also make his first visit as Foreign Minister to Latin America,
visiting Brazil, Argentina and Chile.
He says his talks will include the prospects for a new round of world trade
talks later this year.
