BROTHER HALIFA:
Frankly, sometimes my conscience tells me that I often unnecessarily hit
PDOIS too hard, and therefore I should back off; but on the other hand,
carefully following up your inadequate responses as to why your party failed
to attend the London Meeting, that tends to vindicate my tougher stand
against your party. The fundamental question is, why is PDOIS, the third
oldest political party in The Gambia after PPP and NCP, is still bugged down
to a SHEER PROCEDURAL MATTER in clarifying their position as to why they did
not attend the London Meeting? Initially, your party was questioning whether
the meeting was a BRIEFING SESSION or not, and after flip-flopping on that,
your next concern was how the INVITATION LETTER was addressed and delivered
ie, whether the letter was EMAILED or POSTED. After these concerns were
thoroughly addressed by Brother HJK, your next flip-flop now centers on what
you called FACT FINDING MISSION. As you said:
" We are engage in a fact finding mission. You would agree that decisions
are connected with, dependent on and determine by the raw materials from
which they are made. We are trying to put the factual ingredients together.
"
The above quotation of yours seems as if there is a so-called "PARLIAMENTARY
INVESTIGATIONS OR FACTS FINDING GOING ON" on such a basic procedural matter.
This is absolutely pathetic, rediculous and very petty for a SENIOR and
so-called Party of "BEST BIG IDEAS" like PDOIS to ignore the PARAMOUNT
REASONS and MISSION of the London Meeting. Sometimes I even wonder whether
there are "ANIMALS"(excuse my language sir) making decisions at the PDOIS
Central Committee Head Quarters. And even there are human beings making
decisions, they have been using their "YAHOOS" effectively. Frankly, I
cannot comprehend why a well experienced political party like PDOIS is far
behind every political party in the country, and further engulfing itself
into seriously damaging and tarnishing its very fine Image and Integrity.
The huge time and energy that PDOIS have spent in trying to gather what you
called "RAW MATERIALS" in order to divorce facts from fictions, if you had
been expending similar resources onto fact finding of the massacre of our
innocent children, and all the injustices prevailing in our country today,
you could have nailed an extra nail on the coffin of the Dictator. But
instead, PDOIS as a Political Party tend to work with the Dictator behind
the scene, whiles still advancing a JOURNALISTIC ARGUMENTS as the chief
reason why they did not attend the London Meeting.
As I mentioned it before, and I will mention it again, PDOIS' only reason
for not attending the London Meeting was sheerly due to fact that they hated
the former President SIR DAWDA JAWARA so much that they hated to be under
the same roof with him, period. PDOIS still have MATURING to do if it will
be regarded as a party which would be able to RE-UNITE all the peoples of
The Gambia together after so much TRIBAL DIVISION and NEPOTISM. A country in
which peoples of different tribes and religions inter-marry is now on the
brink of total anarchy, tribalism, and nothwithstanding, the worst economic
mismanagement the country is currently experiencing. Therefore, if we are
going to consider PDOIS as a political party which is matured enough and up
to the TASK of RE-UNITING the country together, and at the same time, become
the country's SHREWD ECONOMIC MANAGER, then PDOIS as a political party MUST
grow beyond advancing a mere journalistic contentions as to why they erred
in this one, for not attending the London Meeting. To that end, I think
enough is enough and no more journalistic arguments from PDOIS; they should
call it quits.
