Samba Boye:
I was about to go to bed and saw your posting; so I thought I should give
you a quick and a brief response. By the way, those who know me well, can
defend my integrity. I do not have to come here and defend it myself.
Believe me, Samba, if these people had an idea of what my work schedule is,
then they would appreciate the little being given. Honestly, some of us in
this struggle, are better off in the West, than being in The Gambia. We are
only speaking out, because we love and care for our helpless people, and
also believe in justice and fair play.
And, mark you, if Yahya Jammeh's money could buy me, then logically, they
would have, by now, known who my sources were/are in his Government. I bet
that who my sources were/are would have been Jammeh's number one priority if
he was to enter into a deal with me.
So the fact that not a single one of my sources in the Gambia, is yet to be
arrested or known, clearly confirms that I am not in any league with the
Jammeh regime. It is even an insult to me and my family for people to
suggest/insinuate what you are saying.
My brother, for two years now, I have regularly forwarded confidential
messages from my sources in The Gambia to the L, and so far, not a single
one of them is known by Jammeh and his people.
In England, I would have received an award for it - for being trustworthy
(laugh!). Right now, I have the Claire Short's letter to the Commonwealth,
on the Gambian situation, and I could have sent tonight, but because I care
about my source in the Commonwealth Office, I have decided to send an
abridged version at some point.
Anyway, Gambians should also understand that I am now a full time
postgraduate research student and, of course, with family responsibilities
as well! Having said that, I'll never betray the struggle! I would continue
to give my best, as long as I am alive and kicking!
Regards,
Ebrima
