Note the emphasized words and the connotation. In any
real democracy, a candidate for President will say "IF
I win the Elections..." But our Yaya KNOWS that he'll
"win" again, and the IEC will be history. And we
thought the Foday Kabbah Dumbuyas are gone for good.

According to GRTS Radio, President Yahya Jammeh has
criticised the Independent Electoral Commission IEC
for its failure to seek the consent of the Gambian
people on on the demarcation of constituency
boundaries.
Addressing a meeting on Wednesday with the council of
elders from Banjul. President Jammeh said that IEC has
no mandate to enact laws. He said that his government
will not accept any individual or institutions who are
out to sabotage their development efforts and VOWED
TO DISSOLVE THE IEC AFTER THE GENERAL ELECTIONS.
President Jammeh advised the elders to preach the
message of peace, discipline, tolerance and
development in their communities.
He assured them his government's government continuous
support to further develop the capital city Banjul.
The Secretaries of State Ousman Badjie and Nai Ceesay
told the delegation that Banjul will still retain its
three constituencies and urged the people of Banjul to
register for the forthcoming general elections.
Several speakers including the APRC National Women
Mobiliser Aji Fatou Sallah, the chairman of the Banjul
Council of Elders Imam Alhaji Burang John, Alhaji
Madikeh Faal and Mayor Samba Faal all spoke of their
appreciation of President Jammeh's development efforts
and assured him of their unflinching support.
