Jabou:

Unfortunately, the more you move around by writing more on this issue, the more you get bogged down into this quagmire by putting yourself into an inextricable position.

Again, the onus is in you to prove your allegations. To ask for proof from you is not infantile or preposterous, as posited in your last piece. While thinking about your allegations think about the following:

1. Jawara was exonerated of all but one of the charges against him by the African Human Rights Court.

2. The PPP did not complicitly set out to rob the Gambian people. Yes, there was corruption by certain elements but not all.

3. The PPP did maintain an atmosphere back home which was conducive to foreign trade and investment mainly tourism.

4. The best groundnut harvets season ever was under the reign of the PPP.

5. The Alliance as comprised now is being powered by a completely different set of dynamics.
(i) This is a different day and time and this should be taken into effect.
(ii) This is not a PPP led coalition. It is led by an able law make in Ousainou Darboe. However, give credit to the PPP politicians who did succsfully fight Decree 89. Otherwise, there would not be the possibility of an augmented Aliiance.
(iii) The question here is not about the PPP but whether a judiciary and system can be put together to make our government a more efficient and honest one.

Jabou, in conclusion, you have accused many of being simplistic. But i think it is the likes of "brother Naphiyo from Eastern Kombo" and yourself who have been terriblt simplistic.

Our mission (the big picture) is to make sure the APRC is removed from power. Once this is done, we have faith in the Alliance leadership to make sure that the mistakes of the past are not repeated by putting a better system into place. What more can we ask for now?

This is the big picture.
