A week ago, i wrote:

"Halipha, alas you have got in to the NA thanks to the UDP boycott.
Bravo, What an achievement!"

I am now retracting this sarcastic statement as in all honesty to myself, i
believe that there is hardly a more qualified and dedicated person who will
better represent the voice of his or her constituency as well as the
collective interest of the Gambia in Parliament than Halipha Sallah. I wish
to therefore join my compatriots in congragulating the Honourable Halipha
Sallah for his election to the National Assembly.I have no doubt that he
will live up to the challenges of the task.
However, this does not nullify my position that the interest of the Gambian
people would have been better served by a total opposition boycott of the
Parliamentary polls.
