Gassama, thanks for this forward. I was wondering whether you can provide
us with some stats., so we can make sense of all these numbers flying all
over the place. The numbers I'm looking for are these:

What is the total number of groundnuts (in tons) harvested by our farmers in
2000?

What % of the total was bought (in Dalasis) by the Government?

Of the % bought, how much was paid in cash and IOU, respectively?

What % of the IOU (in dalasis) from 2000 is still in arrears to the farmers
as I write?

For 2001:

What is the total number of groundnuts (in tons) harvested by our farmers in
2001?

How much of the total is bought (in tons) by the government?

Of the % bought (in tons), how much is paid in cash and IOU, respectively?

How much of the total output (in tons) will be unsold?

How much IOUs (in Dalasis) is the government projecting to be in default to
the farmers as at December 31, 2002?

What is the source of the cash from which the gov't. is paying the farmers
(loans, grants, taxes, etc.)?

Your assistance in providing us or pointing us to a source is highly
appreciated.

Chi Jaama
