While reading the most recent issue of the Pride
Magazine (UK), an article on FGM cited The Gambia as
"an uncomprisingly Islamic State". I was stunned and
was actually in the process of writing an article to
the magazine disputing this fact. This will be
extremely difficult now though.

As a public health student, I am especially disturbed
by the fact that there are people out there that
believe that family planning programs contribute to
the spread of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. I just don't see
how!!!! An aspect of family planning programs is of
course the use of condoms to prevent the spread of
HIV/AIDS. This has been proven to be quite effective
although in our African countries, it can be hard for
women since the most vulnerable do not have much of a
say in their sexual relations with their husbands.
