Castigating Senegal and/or The Gambia is not the way forward.  The two
counries are inextricably linked and condemned to live together.  The
SeneGambian people accept this fact but I often wonder if the politicians
of the two countries are equally convinced.  If recent border closures,
tariff wars and restrictions of goods and people are anything to go by, I
think they (the politicians) need to take lessons from the ordinary person
in the streets of Banjul, Bignona and Dakar who are living the SeneGambian
reality very day. I have been calling relatives in Dakar and Zinguinchor
since the tragedy to enquire about relatives and friends who might have
been on that fateful journey.  No news thus far due to the large number of
