Subject: Re:****EU doubts military solution to Uganda civil war

1)

Many Ugandans say the war has already lasted too long and have called on the government to negotiate with the rebels. However, Illing acknowledged that opening dialogue with the LRA was difficult.

2)

"I have not met anyone who has met Kony face-to-face in the last two or three years," said Illing, who heads a committee of international aid donors discussing the civil war.

                                                              ****************

2) My answer/question to the EU representative, Mr Illing in (2) above is, has this never crossed his mind to find out who this "Kony rebel" really is? and why this Kony who comes from Acholi would want to kill, torture and terrorise his own people and whichever area where Museveni and his terrorist NRM/NRA are less popular for all these 18 years - and even taking away their land?

Well Mr Illing, if there is anybody who has met Kony, it could be none other than yourself - You have met Museveni several times, but when he resurfaces as the rebel killing in the north and east of Uganda, you apparently fail to identify him - your M7 is a man of so many faces - one time a rebel killing, the next moment a government soldier coming to retaliate on the rebels, the next minute he is a rebel abducting children and another day, the good soldier capable of releasing these children from the rebel hands!.

And why don't you even try to find out the relationship between the Kony rebel and M7 himself?

Best regards,

Nyar'Onyango

That is because they have all their four ears on what is happening in Uganda and therefor worried that the people of Uganda are finally waking up to reality that nobody will help them unless they help themselves.

Mark when they come up with this kind of concern - in whose favour are they talking?

Are they just learning today of the military solution to solve a political situation in Uganda?

For the last almost 20 years haven't all of them been financing military solution to Uganda's problem. And in any case, didn't they themselves finance M7's terrorist war to solve a and even helped to do the propaganda on the Luwero Triangle - thereby telling lies to their tax-payers?

  Who is fooling who?

Their stooge is going anyway - one way or ther other - come what may!

  Best regards,

  Nyar'Onyango

EU doubts military solution to Uganda civil war

KAMPALA (Reuters) - The European Union's representative in Uganda said Wednesday the bloc doubted Uganda's 17-year civil war with rebels in north would be ended by military muscle.

Last year President Yoweri Museveni deployed more than 14,000 troops backed by helicopter gunships, tanks and artillery to try to wipe out the Lord's Resistance Army, or LRA, rebels, giving a deadline of the end of February this year.

But the LRA, which is feared for abducting children to use as soldiers and sex slaves, has continued with its attacks.

"We have severe doubts about ending this war militarily," the EU's head of delegation Sigurd Illing told a news conference. "We are encouraging the government to explore peaceful means to end the war."

Led by self-proclaimed prophet Joseph Kony, the rebels say they are fighting to overthrow Museveni's government but have never spelt out detailed demands in public.

Many Ugandans say the war has already lasted too long and have called on the government to negotiate with the rebels. However, Illing acknowledged that opening dialogue with the LRA was difficult.

"I have not met anyone who has met Kony face-to-face in the last two or three years," said Illing, who heads a committee of international aid donors discussing the civil war.

Aid agencies estimate that about one million people have been displaced from northern Uganda because of rebel activity.
