Gibby,
It is not true that a green card holder is required to get a transit visa via UK/Brussels. If you are travelling and not leaving the airport, you do not need a visa. And Brussels is better option for SN flies 3/week to both Dakar and Banjul from Brussels. And advise your clients thatthey can be checked-in directly from any US city and they do not have to check-ou/in their baggaes again until they get to Banjul. And this goes for return trips too from Banjul.
You could confirm this by calling US airways, Continental or SN at their NY contact.
Thank you.

May be it has something to do with it. Nvertheless, if that is the case, I hope Slok International will take over the route. This was definitely the easiest and cheapest route for Gambians to travel between the US and The Gambia.
I agree with the fact that Ghana Airways has had several problems in the past and present, but there are so many Gambians living in the United States that need this direct route option.
As a green card holder in the US, you now need a visa to transit through either London or Belgium (SN Brussels). It is also going to be always more expensive for that matter take 20 hours just to get to Gambia. The only other option right now is South African Airways to Dakar.
Hopefully, this will be resolved to benefit the Gambians living in the US.

I just hope and pray that refusal to renew Ghana Airways contract has
nothing to do with this new deal they signed with Slok International
Airlines in Banjul a few days ago. Although Ghana Airways has not been
the most reliable or comfortable carrier, they must be recognized as one
of the cheapest and convenient alternatives between Banjul and the US.
