On tuesday October 25th 2005 The Republic of Senegal reestablishes diplomatic ties with Mainland China.The full story can be accessed on (www.homeview.sn) or on (www.seneweb.sn).
Senegal cites realities on the geopolitical arena as the reasons backing their decision that is recognising there is only one China which is the Mainland and Taiwan is an integral part of this united Bloc of ONE CHINA.
It can be recalled that Senegal followed suit when The Gambia established diplomatic ties with THE REPUBLIC OF CHINA ON TAIWAN almost a decade ago.This was during the era of former President Abdou Diouf.
It took Prez Wade 10 years to quit Taiwan ie being something he inherited from his predecessor.As a democratically elected president Wade succeeded Diouf.
It took only a year for Yaya Jammeh to rupture diplomatic ties with Mainland China ie being something he inherited from his predecessor. As a coupist Jammeh forced Jawara out of the State House!
Now that another card has been placed on the table lets observe Banjul's moves and see.
