           By Gainako Staff writer

The Local STGDP Chapter of Minnesota will today April 22nd 2006 converge at the Hampton Hotel, Minnetonka (MN), to raise funds for Nadd, in which the next prospective President of the third republic, Hon. Halifa Sallah, of Nadd, is expected to grace the occasion via telephone conference news reaching Gainako Newspaper indicated.

NADD MAKING HEAD WAVES IN THE US-
  ANOTHER DOLLAR RAIN SHOW!!!!
Miss Christine Sakuna, Local Coordinator, STGDP, promised they anticipate doing a lot of fundraisings to help support Nadd in the forthcoming Presidential elections. Miss Sakuna, who sounded very optimistic, said “We are very excited about the event. We will let folks know about STGDP.” Mr. Cherno Bah, one of strong members of local chapter also expressed similar sentiments, and anticipating a successful event.

The fund raising event titled “Bantaba” is scheduled at 4.00pm. It is an event for games competition, and a good turn out is expected. Sources also hinted that short speeches will be delivered by Miss Sakuna, Mr. Saul Njie, and Yero Jallow alias Dalton-all local associates of the pro-democracy organization.

In another development, fundraisers will have an opportunity to talk to Nadd’s flag bearer, Mr. Halifa Sallah, Live on the phone for at least 30 minutes, in which they will ask questions pertaining to Nadd’s developments and affirm to him about the togetherness in the struggle. It is well noted that Minnesota is a stronghold constituent of STGDP and Nadd.

Insiders and pro democracy activists also clearly noted that even though the fundraising is done outside the Gambia, it is well conforming to the noted Part 7: Political Parties 60 (7), that says “A registered political party shall not receive any contribution or donation to its expenses or otherwise from any person who is not a citizen of The Gambia, or from any corporate or unincorporated body.”, since the organizers are all members of STGDP.

To grace the occasion this afternoon will be Mr. Lamin Sabally, of former IEC, Mrs. Haddy Saho, and other pro democracy activists in the twin cities.
