Mr. Mballow,
I hope Hamat will take the opportunity to explain to you whyhe lost the election and not as you put it. I think it will add so much weight to the credibility of your organization and press release if you do not write your opinion on it but the honest truth only.
If Mr. Bah will be available to engage a non party affiliated group to setthe facts straight, I will be more than willing to talk to him. You may be able to reach me by email and I will initiate the call and talk to him.
  Thank you.
  Alieu

Press Release:

New York, July 6 National Reconciliation Party (NRP) Secretary General and Party Leader Mr. Hamat N.K. Bah today arrived in the U.S. upon the invitation of Gambians and friends of the Gambia.

This morning, Mr. Bah, was met with high power delegation at the JFK airport. He had a honest and fruitful talks with Gambians concerning the preparation for the forth coming September presidential elections.

During his short visit to the United States, he is scheduled to hold meetings with Gambians and friends of the Gambia in the following cities: Tennessee, Atlanta, North Carolina, Washington and New York. He will also meet with U.S. officials, Human Rights officials and will give interviews to Gambian news papers and U.S. Media.

Mr. Bah was elected twice as a National Assembly member for Upper Saloum Constituency under the sponsorship of the (NRP) party but lost his seat when he joint (NADD). The Supreme Court declared his seat vacant as a result of his joining (NADD) while still a member of the (NRP) party. He contested a by-election but due to intimidations, harassment and undue influence of voters, he lost the seat.

During his tenure in office as a National assembly member, he was very vocal, he demanded from the Government to bring those responsible for the burning of the Independent Newspaper to be arrested and brought to trial. He went further to mention the Presidential guards responsible by names.

Mr. Bah called for an independent enquiry at the AMRC for an alleged corruption practice involving Justice Paul of the Supreme Court.
Later on the same Justice Paul sent him along with OJ and Halifa to jail for a month without bail.

Thank you,
Saihou Mballow
