LAMIN WAA JUWARA, NADD EXECUTIVE MEMBER SAY PRESIDENT JAMMEH IS THE
CLEAR WINNER PDF <javascript:void(0)> Print

Written by EBRIMA BARRY (EDITOR-IN-CHIEF)

  <http://statehousenews.info/images/photo/waa.jpg> Mr. Lamin Waa Juwara
former Niamina Member of Parliament and Divisional Commissioner under
the PPP Administration and current Executive Member of opposition party
NADD has said that President Yahya Jammeh is the outright winner of last
weeks presidential elections in The Gambia. Mr. Juwara made this
pronouncement earlier today when he spoke to Malick Alaba Jones in an
exclusive interview on Gambia Radio and Television Services.

Juwara also praised the election process in The Gambia by saying
tremendous improvements have been made. Juwara lambasted claims by the
opposition that the elections were unfair. He said if anybody is to be
blamed it is the opposition because they could not be united for a
common goal. He acknowledged that they did not receive any reports for
any irregularity on Election Day. On the whole, he hailed the process as
being totally improved compared to previous years. The "Lion" as he is
known in Gambian political cycles also said President Jammeh was the
President for all Gambians and not just for the APRC. He posited that
the country has to move on and the elections need to be behind us.

What Lamin Waa-Juwara did today is what any patriotic Gambian who calls
himself a genuine politician who loves The Gambia should do. There is no
one politician who has been more critical of this Government than Lamin
Waa Juwara and for him to come out and put his politics behind him and
speak the truth, speaks volumes of him and indeed demonstrates his
patriotism to his country unlike his opposite number who is still crying
over spilled milk. Juwara and NADD may differ from the APRC as far as
ideology is concerned and that is normal, today they showed the whole
world that Gambia comes first and egos come last.

Our Political commentator said NADD took the high road and this he said
could be very beneficial to them in the upcoming National Assembly
Elections. He went on to say that it is not a common practice in Africa
for political parties to come forward and concede noting that most
always want to blame their defeat on voting irregularities and what not.
He said NADD demonstrated political maturity because they said they were
going to study the process and come back to the people and it appears he
said, "WAA Juwara" has done that today and has done justice to this
country."

Apparently Waa Juwara's opposite number in the other party is still
holding on to his previous stance that the process was not fair and even
went to the extent of accusing an honourable man in IEC Chairman, Alhagi
Mustapha Carayol of wrong doing. A legal practitioner of his repute
should have known there is a clause in the law of the land called,
Slander and spreading false and malicious information and he may have to
dance to this tune if Mr. Carayol so chooses to seek redress in the
Judicial process.Waa Juwara has not made calls for the latter to resign,
but most Gambian political observers acknowledged that it is time for
him to resign from politics and go back to what he does best,
LAWYER-ING.
