Pasamba,
What type of nonsense is this???
" Therefore, fellow Gambians let us for once resist YOUSSOU’s wonderful
Mbalax for the interest of the Gambia. If you cannot live without Youssou’s
album try buying a pirated one."
How irresponsible can one be if in the name of democracy, you stand to
encourage people to break the law???
What does Youssou's CD have to do with the things Yaya Jammeh has been doing
in the Gambia???? OK, boycott Wal-Mart, NIKE..... but I'm sorry to inform
you that you are too late. I've already ordered my Youssou music and I KNOW
there are many others who will follow suit because Youssou Ndour's music is
simply irresistible. It does not make me a "sell out". It makes me a
Senegambian because my maternal ancestry hails from Nyorro, and paternal side is from
Tambakunda. So, there you go.......
And you continued...
" hope my brother will understand that my intention is not to deprive of
business, but one that is based purely on genuine concern for the greater good
of the Gambia."
My brother, please find alternate means of getting your message across. All
of us in the Diaspora are here to make ends meet -- chasing the
dream.....Thus, stifling each other's progress is what sets us back in many ways.......
Awa Sey
