The blatant disregard for due process ranks among the most unfortunate aspect of the current mal-governance that Gambians are subjected to by Yahya Jammeh's government. Is human history not higly punctuated with lessons that tyranny will eventually be defeated by the silent or otherwise yearnings of the masses for freedom and justice? Therefore "let justice guide our actions towards the common good."

We must not forget that the fate of Chief Manneh, another detained Gambian journalist is still unknown. Habeas Corpus! Habeas Corpus!

Haruna, thanks for your comments on this latest absurdity by the NIA. By the
way, the NIA does not/dare not arrest any journalist or politician without
orders from above. If you have not read Mandela's Other Children, I would
recommend that you grab a copy somehow so you will get a first hand account
of what, according to NIA and police folks, lies behind their apparently
absurd arrests of innocent journalists. If you email me your mailing
address, I will gladly send you a complimentary copy.
