Mawdo Yero,

Permission granted to express your feelings over my Classy Lady Jabiyong Ndey Tapha Sosseh. She deserves her dues.

I congratulate the new GPU Executive and salute the outgoing one. GPU's interest supersede personal interests.

Before people start speculating and taking things out of normal democratic context, I feel I should set some records straight for posterity sake:

JABIYONG NDEY TAPHA SOSSEH NO INTERESTED IN RE-ELECTION
I can vouch that Jabiyong Ndey Tapha Sosseh was not hungry or desperate for re-election as GPU President. Sometime in April 2011 while exchanging greetings, she told me the GPU Congress was approaching but she was not interested in a second term.

I supported her and encouraged her to proceed with my earlier proposal that she should go for her PHD or any other additional post graduate programme should she not renew her current contract in Mali.

We even started shorting listing some schools and programmes.

ENTERING THE GAMBIA FOR THE CONGRESS
Jabiyong Ndey wanted to go to the Gambia to personally present her REPORT and answer the questions of delegates face-to-face at the GPU Congress.

I am one of the people who DISCOURAGED HER from returning to the Gambia. I told her, her personal well being is more important. People will always find faults in her report. Since not everybody is stupid, I believe some will take the trouble of getting copies of your report before spreading lies. Anything can happen to her in The Gambia and the authorities concerned will say the have NO idea. The case of Deyda, Chief Ebrima Manneh and others are precedents.

LAST MINUTE BETRAYAL?
Shortly after the mess of GPU and CCG, Jabiying told me of how people wanted to use CCG against her and that she would like to be in Gambia to clear things. Again I advised her not to go.

She told me constituents at home and international partners asked her to seek re-election but she was yet to decide.

WE BOTH FEARED LAST MINUTE BETRAYAL. I asked her if she has reliable GPU members on the ground who will keep their words and convince others to vote for her. She answered in the affirmative and I gave her my blessings. For I believe the people who encouraged her to seek a second term would be men and women enough to campaign for her without fear and hypocrisy.
****
So those who asked Ndey Tapha Sosseh to seek re-election and changed their minds in the last minutes should bend their heads in shame.

Whatever Jabiyong Ndey remains my Princely Quality Lady just like Fatou JM et al. I am not a betrayer and hypocrite.

On another development, I want to inform all my fans that I have DECIDED TO STOP WRITING UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE!!

It has nothing to do with Jabiyong or my last hot piece on VP Njie Saidy.

Of course I will surely remain on the stand by to defend MY NAME and anyone who falls victim to hypocrisy and injustice.

Squeezing articles out of my busy schedules despite some annoying petty errors (the audience is not a homogeneous group of academics so the errors are forgiveable), is however suspended until further notice.

No My Brother Yahya Jammeh did not pay me to keep quite and he did not send some curvy ladies to seduce me.

Thanks,

I remain in defence of my name and victims of injustice, hypocrisy and stupidity.

Prince Bubacarr Sankanu
