Prince
A very revealing response. The Dr Malanding as I said is a cultural
man, he will come to see the dreams of a man become reality some day.
As a good speaker of Malinke yourself, we have an adage which states
"tabulo kaa sen kuumena, woo bantale" (the event that, a sacred drum
is beaten for is a done thing).
We also say that, "Ninsi menfa muu biti, wooman binakala sumansi"
Henceforth, the big idea will become our Gambian success.
One thing though, the accountant in me worries about the sums involve
in creating a film village. Unless, it is a small scale budget film
which may involve a couple of million Dalasis. To put the nagging
questions of sceptics to bed, the set up cost alone requires some good
sums. Wouldn't that be an issue should the government be unwilling to
cheap in?
I know my other rich nephew like to escape with soucy dramas, will he
be contributing to the first ever Gambian made film? I mean, the one
and only Masoud.
Secondly, Dr Jaiteh and other sceptics like him may also want you to
give them a background of your experience in movie or film making.
Have you had any relation with the Nollywood directors, producers etc?
I will be thrill to watch a Prince Sankanu produce film. Dr Jammeh
will welcome the big idea, however, if things pick up, there the
problem will begin. If Prof. Jammeh can pay Nollywood guys some good
money to make a film, what about our noble Prince?
Thanks
Suntou
