While I cannot address your specific situation (I can feel your 
frustration as we've all been there at some point in our surfing online 
life), the lesson I long ago learned is the value of multiple browsers.
What one won't display nicely for me, another may work like a chammp. 
And sometimes screen readers need to be switched along with the browser.
BTW, I keep the old and now much maligned IE11 around as I have a few 
sites or pages which are best dealt by IE.
Ah, the life of a blind computer user can be challenging at times <grin>!!
