Jerrejeff Abdoulie,
Thanks for your compliments. The interview was too short and i was unable to
come up with all the facts i had as you noticed with the interruptions by the
presenter but luckily the most important messages came across. I replied
Asbjorn Nordems posting of the 21st may confirming governments stand to stop
the all inclusive concept in The Gambia at the end of the season which is in
October. I am aware that there is intense lobbying going on by the FTI which
is the tour operator promoting the concept at Sunwing but be rest assured that
its over with this concept. The Gambian people have never cried foil in any
game and this is the first time we have done so and our voices and concerns
recognized by Government. WE are aware that the tour operators are still selling
the package for next winter but we are waiting to see what happens next . In
fact there is a high powered delegation from Germany in town discussing with
government on the issue and had a meeting with the Hon minster this morning and
we are waiting for the outcome of the meeting. As a matterof fact we having a
three day seminar or call it a brain storming exercise starting on monday
working on a proper guidelines for sustainable tourism and its finance by the
European Union and I will send you the details later.I am also working on an
article on the constrains of an all year round tourist activity which am sure
will be of interest to you. I am suggesting that you subscribe to the Tourism
Concern Magazine and read through the past issues and am sure it will be of
great help.My cousin Juka always promise to send me someof your articles but has
not done so yet .I will make sure that she sends them to me soon. I will be
in torch soon. I will end short story with the quotation ( THE VOICE OF THE
PEOPLE IS THE VOICE OF GOD)
