Mr. Seedy Ahmed,

There's no need for you to run off and call me a tribalist. Let me ask you
a question brother? Why do we speak and use English as the medium of
instruction in schools? How are you so sure that everyone in that hall can
speak Mandinka, Wollof or Aku? The fact that some people objected at the
beginning and even filed out of the hall before he made it half-way through
tells me those people either could not understand him, or were displeased
with his use of Mandinka. Well if he received any applaud at the end, I'm
sure it came from those that stayed, and understood Mandinka.

A true leader who decides to speak in a local language will first start by
asking the audience's permission/apology. This is simply a matter of common
courtesy. Not to demean the rest of the speakers, but most people showed
their presence because of the party leader. Think about going to a Bulls
game with no Michael Jordan. It's the nepotism and tribalism amongst us,
that is hampering progress in Mother Gambia. A true leader should not be
unmindful of sensitive issues affecting progress. FYI, I came from a mixed
family trait as well, so you are truly preaching to the choir my brother.
And BTW, the word TRIBALISH is not mentioned anywhere in my postings, I hope
not.

It is apparent my friend, that Halifa is a better leader than your UDP
candidate. It's simple as that.

Essa
