The following is from Ndey Jobarteh

------- Forwarded message follows -------

This is just to give a brief summary of the situation on the ground.
There is a need for assistance to the wounded students still lying at the
hospital bed. I have visited them and some I could not see due to some
restrictions. Any support will do, the state of the RVH is really in a mess
and i am appealing to everybody especialy those on the medical field to give
their support. You can find three kids sharing the same bed with different
illness, no drugs etc. There are doctors, i mean Gambian doctors who are
handicaped by the lack of material and instruments. SO, i believed the
bringing of the Cubans has made no difference neither will it change the
conditions of the Gambians. I believe that before the government enter in
these kinds of ventures or agreements they should first of all adrress the
lack of drugs, instruments and other related issues.
Also, speaking to some students from GTTI, there is an urgent need of
financial support for students taking their final year exams. These students
came with their bank drafts the day of the strike to pay for their exams fees
but all these were lost during the butchering process. If funds could help
address this problem it will be very helpful, most of them have to defer
their exams.

I have been trying to speak to some of the members of GAMSU but to no
available. Contact numbers are impossible at present but i am still trying
to get their side of the story. If anyone knows their contact or the people
concern, you can contact me at home: 229056 before next week friday.

THe students are also talking about another demonstration on Monday the 15th
of this month but i am yet to confirm this infor.

  The country is still mourning.......................

THis is it for NOw

  The Struggle Continues!!!!!
