Here we go again, the last time it was Momodou Soma Jobe who was arrested and detained for allegedly stalling Jammeh's rice and donated to the Gambian people. Now its an NAM from Foni Kansala is in hot water for conspiring with the District Chief of Kansala.

Jammeh's system is corrupt and it is spreading to the people.

May God redeem us from this disease.

"Kawsu Gibba, the National Assembly Member for Foni Kansala Constituency and former managing director of the Continent Bank, is currently in Mile Two Central Prisons for allegedly being an accomplice to President Jammeh’s stolen Ramadan gifts meant for distribution in villages in the Foni Kansala District.

According to sources, NAM Gibba sold about one hundred bags of rice and sugar together with the head chief of Foni Kansala, Momodou Lamin Nyassi and two others.
Confirming the sale, NAM Gibba is quoted to have said that the commodities were sold to enable them transport the remainder of the rice and sugar to the district and not for their personal use.

The APRC parliamentarian, Wednesday, criticised the local press on national television for their publication, indicating that his district chief sold the rice and sugar for their personal gains. He was also quoted in the same medium as saying that the allegations were unfounded and untrue.

Before he was taken to Mile Two, NAM Gibba was briefly held at the Serious Crime Unit of the Police headquarters in Banjul where he was interrogated and statements taken. He was later in the afternoon moved to the Mile Two Central Prison.

Meanwhile, the fate of the head chief of the district, Momodou Lamin Nyassi is still undecided as he is neither been charged nor bailed.

The Police spokesman, ASP Aziz Bojang was said to have travelled to Canada but a senior police officer confirmed the story, noting that NAM Gibba has neither been charged nor taken to court.

It could be noted that President Jammeh stated earlier this year that any public officer involved in unscrupulous activities would not only be sacked but will be taken to Mile Two Prisons.

Chief Manneh also contributed to this story. "
