My sentiments exactly Joe Sambou. Principle is what maketh a man or woman,
and Jawara has shown that he has none as far as I am concerned. The
conviction to have clear principles and to do the right thing is what we need
in each other as well as in our leaders because without it, we will keep
coming up with people who will sell their own mothers for personal gain.

This man was humiliated by these people who overthrew his government
illegally, and in the time Jawara was away, he has been quoted as stating
that this regime is destroying the Gambia. Well, they are still destroying
our country, and Jammeh's government is more like a piracy that a government,
and the havoc they are wrecking with our country is as plain to Jawara as
daylight. I guess he was making his accusations in the interest of getting
back to power and the life he was accustomed to, and without any hope of that
on the horizon, he has chosen the next best thing which is to sell his soul
to the regime of Yaya Jammeh.

What he has chosen to do is close his eyes to the reality in exchange for a
renovated house and some favours for him and his family, period. He has sold
out not only the Gambian people, but those members of his government who
stayed loyal to him the entire time he was in London. He simply negotiated a
sell-out package for himself and his immediate family, and went home. Well,
from the look of things so far, it appears that he is going to be a hostage
guarded round the clock by Yaya Jammehs' unthinking brutal aquad and he
desreves every ounce of that kind of treatment.
That is the truth, and anything else is just the usual Gambian bad habit of
beating around the bush fueled by a personal agenda always, instead of
facing up to reality and telling it like it really is. So long as we continue
to do that, we will always have the Jawara's in our midst, and out political
situation will remain the same.
