Mr Ceesay,

I find what transpired between Pa Nderry and the management of your online
paper quite unfair. I am sure many will agree, just as Sainey has mentioned,
that Allgambian was made known to us by Pa Nderry. He has played a pivotal
role as PR for the said paper. Though i find your paper quite controversial
and particularly biased contrary to your mission statement, it provides a
different angle of some of the events at home which i find quite interesting
to read.
Like a majority of those who commented here, I love our beloved Gambia and
abhore all the atrocities inflicted on the poor and the powerless. I crave
for a harmonious peaceful Gambia where the less priviledged will sleep
soundly without fear of losing their home, their income and their families.
A Gambia where we can, without fear, objectively criticise our fellow
Gambian with the intention of serving as the mirror to one's frailty and
imperfectness and not to humiliate and denigrade the person. In a Gambia
where we wilfully exchange ideas and opinions without fear of being hurt or
hurting the other's feelings.
People like Pa Nderry are therefore very useful even if we do not agree to
all he publishes. However the online paper management, considering the
paper is an objective one in accordance to its mission statement, could have
privately discussed issues with Pa Nderry and not threaten him (the
resignation letter and Ceesay's subsequent publication testified to this).
It was fair enough for Ceesay to set the records straight about Pa Nderry's
damaging reports which certainly was creating concern particularly within
Gambians at home (for i assure you this damage is what has filtered through
to The Gambia and created inaccurate rumours. In a way, Pa Nderry who hates
character assassination was doing just that to Darbo). Ceesay was just
unprofessional in handling Pa Nderry and particularly in divulging that he
supports NADD. It would have sufficed to just inform the public that some of
the information previously reported were not entirely accurate and he
intends to set the records straight. It was no use telling us which party he
supports or does not support, who informs Pa Nderry or who does not. We are
talking here of professional journalism based on objectivity and not driven
by emotions. Once a journalist writes under emotion, 80% of his report will
be subjective as humans are just made of that stuff.
I plead to Ceesay to reconsider discussing with Pa Nderry (and E Sankareh if
he's involved) and arrange things in close doors. We are not interested to
know what transpires. Neither of the two should write to tell us; let there
just be peace and Pa Nderry continues reporting.
As for Pa Nderry, learn from errors. It is human to err and it is human too
to learn from one's errors and improve. Accept the criticism with humility
and excuse yourself where necessary. Admit your mistakes with a high head
'cause we all do make mistakes. What you do not know is that, you have been
more useful than you imagine even if not everyone shares this view.

A+
