The defeated Bakau Councillor Mr Basirou Gassama has described the recent demonstration by some Gambians against the government of the Gambia as shameless and a desperate attempt to sell the bad image of the country outside. “Bass”, as commonly called, who walked into our offices yesterday afternoon argued that if those people really loved The Gambia as claimed by them, they wouldn’t stay outside the country for more than twenty to thirty years and do nothing appreciable towards the development of their country. “It is a big shame for them staying abroad for 20-30years writing false and unfounded allegations against Yahya Jammeh’s administration, using the internet as cover.” The Sun wing security manager, reminded those people that the Gambians are not fools and will never listen to them.
Turning to Dullo Bah the former Campaign Manager of N.R.P, Mr Gassama advised him and his party to accept defeat from Sainey Mbye.
He cited an example of himself when he whole heartedly accepted defeat from his opponent during the Bakau ward by-elections.
While urging the leadership of the opposition NADD to name their flag bearer, Mr Gassama maintained that a humiliating defeat of 90% awaits the Coalition come the Presidential elections.
