Mr SLB,
I beg you not to lose heart to continue with your pro-Jammeh stance in the
present discourse untill you are convinced or you are abled to convince the
rest of us. Dont tell us to be pro-Jammeh, instead go ahead and tell us why
we should be pro-Jammeh; dont tell us not to be anti-Jammeh, instead go
ahead and tell us why we should not be anti-Jammeh.
Some of us have consistently argued that we are not anti-Jammeh, but we are
against the brutal and corrupt system that brother of ours presides over. It
is sad to note how some of you make opposition to banditry, brutality and
crimininality so synonymous with anti-Yaya Jammeh that you unconsciously
make a devil of a person you are purported to love. When you love your
brother, you should be the first person to dis-associate with him when he
blunders; if you dont, through support, you merely entrench him in his
errors and multiply the fold of his opponents .
You should not expect all of us put Yaya before our beloved motherland. He
is just one of us, and has limited potentials and capacity. He is here today
and I would not be wrong to say he would not be here in two hundred years
time. Yaya Jammeh is therefore not indispensable to the Gambia. You guys
dont have to allow yourselves to behave like the people who used to say that
they could not imagine a Gambia without Sir Dawda Jawara. He is gone with
his D.K. " SABAREY". Some day in the future, Yaya A. J.J.J. Jammeh and his
"AFINJANG" would also be gone. This may not even be because some of us are
anti-Jammeh; but simply because the only permanent thing in life is change.
Perhaps you are witnessing the introduction of another regime change in the
Gambia, and this is being manifested by the majority of contributors on this
forum appearing anti-Jammeh to you.
Do you remember, " The voice of the people; is the voice of God"?
Omar Joof.
