MAD YAYA AND HIS CORONIES(THE NOTORIOUS THIEVES)

Who said a "ten-teng or Tameh" cannot hold water. Time and time again we
have seen Mad Yayah's folies costing the Gambian people their limited
resources. The IMF fiasco will certainly leave us walking on one bad limb.

The IMF debacle has gotten so bad, there are pertinent questions swirling
in the streets of Banjul and other places; Is Mad Yayah contemplating a
resignation in the light of the IMF bombshell. Mad Yayah cannot figure out
how the Gambia can afford to pay back the money owed to the IMF. You would
recall that Mad Yayah and his cronies went on a cooking expedition of the
government books ( not to take anything from the ENRON accountants) to
create a favorable financial position that would convince the IMF to extend
a loan earmarked for the poverty reduction program. The IMF however caught
up with them and is now asking Tony Daaba's government to pay back the the
pricinpal and the accrued interest. Is there any money to meet this
obligation? certainly not, if Mad Yayah is contemplating a resignation. His
cronies are working his brain to get him to stay. They beleive that once
the offshore oil starts gussing, they can foot the bill. Her! ! e is a
problem with that plan, the oil is not yet confirmed and it may take years
to really rip any benefit and the IMF ( shylock the Jew) is saying pay me
back now!!!!!!!. What are the possible implications of this unfortunate
circumstance, apart from the embarassment that would befall our beloved
country? The country's credit rating will go down, thus we may find it
tough to secure any more loans to finance our development programs. Even if
we manage to secure any loans in the near future the interest rates may be
exobitantly high. This is going to cost us dearly folks.

In other developments, Amadou Samba has taken the place of Ali Baba Jobe
and it is all business again. You would recall that all chieves have
a "konsinbaro", a personal assistant, a buddy buddy, a pal, common laughter-
that one man who does it all for the the chief. That is why he (Samba) is
not facing the music, atleast for now. Who said Tarik Musa was deported.
The whole story was a scheme according to reliable sources to get him out
of the country so that he could continue to run their business. lang Conteh
is out, Tarik is managing funds outside the country, Abdoulie Kujabi was
mentioned in the NIA diamond saga but he never got arrested. wow!!!! this
concentric circle of crooks are still at it. You know all this "operation
no compromise" stuff was meant for one thing, to quell the impending
ravages of the IMF fiasco.

Sources have it that Sana Sabally spoke on Radio RFI France these days. A
Senegalese friend of mine living in Italy ( Nbanyik Joof) also confirmed
that to me. Sana is being helped by RADDHO, a human rights organisation in
Senagal.

It is embarassing but the Gambian embassy in France has no fax, no light ,
no cars and two local employees of the mission have resigned due to the
lack of pay for months. To make a believer out of you try and call them at
01133142940930.

Also what would happen to the lawyers who are taking a stand against
justice Paul. Stay tune for that.
