Strange feeling

It’s heavy as lead
It’s creepy on the brow
It’s like an over-charge
Of sharp electric vibes
It’s a strange, strange feeling
That makes you want to cry
That makes you want to laugh
Just dissolve into space!

Dream Girl

In my dreams she was a moon
Shining in the depths of my inner sky
In my dreams she was a star
Twinkling brightly in my heart
In my dreams she was a butterfly
Fluttering gaily in my inner garden
In my dreams she was a stream
Running gently through my veins
In my dreams she was the ocean
Washing the sands of my inner beach
In my dreams she was a breeze
Gently caressing my dreamy face
In my dreams she was a lovely bird
Singing me lullabies while I slept
In my dreams she was the ocean
Flowing into the city of Paradise
When I woke up there she stood
All of these and much besides!

Moon Love

My heart sank
When I heard
The moon will not rise tonight!

Then the clouds smiled
And there she stood
In all her golden splendor!

My heart flew and joined the stars
And sang happily all night long
And danced happily all night long
As she floated in my inner skies!

A Tear for this World

The sun has set, too early
The birds have gone to roost, too soon
The path looks scary
Dark uncertainties lurk
In the creeping shadows of the mind
It is time to test
That which we said we were
But the tarmac is hot
And we have no shoes to wear
So we force the sun to set
We force the singing birds to stop
We nip the rose in the bud
We say to it – die, die, it’s time to die
And so it quietly dies – helpless.
A tear for this world.

Ode to Nostalgia

The songs die in my heart
Get cold like the fireplace
Of ancient history
Tell tales of bygone days
Draw lines on the sands of time
Where spirits faltered and souls fell
Where paths converged and minds parted
Where drops of blood and guilt lie
Indelible witnesses to human folly
Indelible witnesses to human love

The songs die in my heart, cold
Like the broken wings of some ancient bird
Clouds of nostalgia fill my eyes
For days gone by, music gone quiet
I try to sing can only sigh
At the transient nature of this life.

Like a Prayer….

Like a star you shine
In the sky of my heart
Like a full moon you brighten
The nights of my lonely life
Like a butterfly you flutter
Among the roses of my inner garden
Like a river you flow
In the valleys of my soul
Like a sweet song you play
In the halls of my eager spirit
Like the sea breeze you blow
Through the corridors of my mind
Like a fairy you dance
In the landscape of my dreams
Like a prayer your name
Keeps ringing in the chambers of my heart….

Just when I think….

Just when I think the sun has set
And my garden gone far to sleep
In flies this wonder bird
And it is daylight yet again.

Just when I think too many shadows
Make room for no silver light
Out pops this magic star
And it is daylight yet again.

Just when I think my heart
Is over and done with love
In flows this lively spirit
And it is daylight yet again!

Something Snapped…

Something snapped
And dropped in me
When two eyes popped up from everywhere
And shot my heart with silver arrows
I put my hands upon my chest
To still the galloping thuds within
To still the stuttering and the rippling
Of passionate waves deep within.

Something snapped
And dropped in me
Bounced against the walls of my inner house
When two lips parted before me
And silver light pierced my glazed eyes
I held my head to quiet the thunder
That rumbled there and made me dizzy
And made me cry
Oh My God!

Something snapped
And dropped in me
When a dazzling star popped up
And smiled at me
And I saw a rose in fullest bloom
And I was scared and sought refuge
In no, no, not yet again!
