As this October marks the 20th Anniversary of Thomas Sankara's
assassination, I would like to draw your attention to two things:
Aziz Fall, the coordinator for the International Justice Campaign for
Sankara (IJCS) and fellow campaigner, Sam SK Le Jah have been receiving
serious death threats (On September 27th Sam SK Le Jah's car was burned down
in Ouagadougou). And as a result of this campaign, in March 2006, the
United Nations Human Rights Committee ruled that Sankara's family has "the
right to know the circumstances of his death." As the government of Burkina
Faso is pressured more and more to reveal the truth, we can expect the death
threats to escalate.

I have a column on this in the October – December, 2007 issue of the BBC
Focus on Africa Magazine. You can also find it, under the title Thomas
Sankara Lives! at
http://www.zmag.org/content/showarticle.cfm?SectionID=2&ItemID=13959.

Please feel free to distribute widely.
