Sister Jabou:

As a former admirer of Sheriff M. Dibba, I must salute you and all others who wrote on the notion of his political selfishness. Dibba was the last person that I thought would sell his soul to an enemy who continues to loot the Gambian treasury.

One thing that I do not understanding is the fact that some of the elders who told us to speak the truth are the ones speaking the untruth. Who do we have to turn to? I guess our very own.

Naphiyo,
Comrade ML Jassey-Conteh

Subject: THE HYPOCRISY OF SHERIFF DIBBA

>
> I was going to elaborate on the hypocrisy of Sheriff Dibba, a remnant of
the
very Jawara regime he was critisizing and blaming for the coup, but on
reading Ebrima Ceesay's synopsis of what transpired at the meeting, i
think
that Ebrima, Mr Chongan, Mr Bahoum, Manjang and others set the record
straight on behalf of Gambians when they relayed what was really happening
in
our country and exposed Sheriff Dibba for the disgrace he is to our people
and our country and his role as lier for the APRC regime.

If Sheriff Dibba did not have a "falling out" with the Jawara regime which
he
was a part of, he would have been there right along with the rest of them
in
their 30 year illegal reign of corruption until it came to an untimely
end.
Likewise, if he was able to form an alliance with anyone, including it
seems, the devil, which would allow him to come out as the top guy, he
would
have gone that route too. When all of this was not possible, he resorted to
joining the APRC regime, anything to get a taste of power because
afterall,
that is the ultimate goal for most of these characters, and Africa and
Africans continue to suffer.

Instead, he has come to join this even more corrupt and murderous APRC
regime
as a last resort in a desperate and shameless quest for power; and
which
seems to be the only reason most of those who go into politics in Africa
are
motivated to do so. This quest for power as the only reason most of us
get
into the political arena is becoming the standard by which our people are
used and abused by a few who have only personal glory and greed as their
goal, leaving a trail of more suffering, human rights abuses and continued
backwardness for the African continent.

Sheriff Dibba is a mouthpiece of the APRC regime, and perhaps one of a few
who are coherent enough so that they are sent to these venues to speak for
the line up of crooked dummies masquerading as leaders that have hijacked
our
country.

It bespeaks of the lack of intelligence in this crooked regime when they
think that they can send Dibba or any other shameless emmissary into the
World to try to paint a rosy picture of good governance in The Gambia
when
their reputation and the accompanying evidence of the tyranny they are
heaping on our people and country has already become legend throughout the
World.

Perhaps they have become so accustomed to fooling some of the Gambian
people
and getting away with it, and silencing those who know better with a heavy
hand, that they think they can play the same game out there in the
international community with the same results.

Too bad that the same Gambian constitution that Sheriff Dibba was
presenting
as the best in the sub-region is also the same constitution that the very
same regime he was out to defend has rendered obsolete by their illegal
actions and their disregard for for it.He was there in London as an
emmissary
sent to misrepresent the truth on both counts, and he tried his best ot
fulfill his shameful mission.

Thank you Ebrima Ceesay and all the rest of you who stood up to represent
the
real truth, and If the Royal Commonwealth Society and others are
interested
in justice, human rights and representing the truth, It is incumbent upon
them to present not only the one-sided misrepresentations by Sheriff
Dibba,
but the suffering and experiences of the Gambian people under this
devious
regime, and the regimes' attempt to cover this up as also presented by
Gambians present at this lecture, and the issues raised by these Gambians
is
fully documented and freely available
