Hi!
I would like to thank everyone for the private and public encouragement given since Raki Web Radio was launched.I have to say that I am overwhelmed by the response the radio got, manifested among other ways in the number of hits in such a short period. I have received some suggerstions and I am trying to implement some of those suggestions. One of those suggestions was to play other types of music. Since the original aim was to make the radio a haven for Gambian music, I created audio-on-demand links where one can click to listen to Senegalese "mbalax" and reggae. I am working on adding soca and soul/hiphop links. These selections will be changed periodically.

I have added hundreds of Gambian songs since the radio was launched and I am still adding more songs. These range from Gambian reggae sensations such as Rebellion D' Recaller, Royal Family, Dancehall Masters to Bubacarr Jammeh, Ndey Nyang-Njie, Daddy Maam, Ali Susso, Tatadinding, Lamin Saho, Mawdo Sey, Egalitarian, Gungee Man and many more. I have just laid my hands on Rico Jazz (those who had their time in the sixties know them), some old Laba Sosseh, Shola Lewis and others.I am expecting some more exciting programming components in various forms. I'll let you know when I get them and the times they will be played. I'll play an interview with Musa Ngum in the coming days. Date and time will be announced.

I have also added pictures of musicians so that people can put faces to the wonderful Gambian music. I'll try to make some improvements and new programming components as time goes on God willing. If anyone has any suggestions or comments, these can be sent either publicly or privately to me. I'll try my best to take on board all suggestions and try to implement them. Have a good evening. Buharry.
