Ebrima, thanks for this forward. All these criminals need to be exposed
without favor for Gambia to rise from the ashes of her mayhem. This is just
the tip of the iceberg and many more are going to be exposed before we
conclude with the big finding saved for last - Yaya's millions of $s, not
Dalasis. Keep up the good work.

Chi Jaama

>>Coach,
>>
>>I recall George Sarr enquiring about the whereabouts of the former SoS
>>Tourism. Well, this could be one of many reasons for Yankuba's
>>'disappearance' from the local scene. Please consider posting this
>>article
>>from Foroyaa as this saga could affect a number of Gambians living abroad,
>>many of whom have bought into the scheme which is turning out to be
>>another
>>crafty way of lining the pockets of the privileged few. Buyers be aware.
>>Read Foroyaa below.

>>GTA & THE TOURISM DEVELOPMENT AREA
>>
>>D3.6 Million Unaccounted for and 26 Plots of Land Illegally Allocated
>>
>>The Gambia Tourism Authority (GTA) has a Board of Directors mandated with
>>the responsibility to direct the management of the properties, businesses
>>and funds of the Authority.
>>
>>Readers would recall that Foroyaa has published allegations of land
>>allocation in the TDA on the 1st of December 2003, without the
>>authorization of the Board. Foroyaa has now confirmed that 26 plots were
>>allocated without the knowledge of the board. One of the allottees is
>>Kuwait millionaire Mr. Harraffi.
>>
>>What is surprising to many is that the 136 plots in the Brufut Heights
>>were
>>allocated to the GTA for sale and were to be sold for D425, 000 in front
>>of
>>the sea and D375, 000 at the back, which could produce more money were
>>simply allocated without the knowledge of the board. It is reported that
>>the Cabinet decision that authorized the sale of the 136 plots in Brufut
>>Heights had clearly mandated the GTA to use the proceeds for the purpose
>>of
>>building a multicultural center. The proceeds from the sale of the plots
>>is said to be D65 Million of which there is a report of over D3.6 Million
>>spent on the basis of the orders of the former SoS Yankuba Touray without
>>the knowledge or authority of the board.
>>
>>As the development of the GTA are being investigated on two fronts on the
>>recommendations of the board to ascertain the levels of financial
>>mismanagement and the number of plots allocated in the TDA. Foroyaa
>>received information that the Office of the President has written to the
>>former SoS Yankuba Touray asking him to refund the D3 million he had
>>ordered to be given to both Roots Foundation and the National Council for
>>the Arts and Culture. Foroyaa would continue its investigations.
