Pa Modou Gassa,

You wrote: "The National Assembly having received a notice of urgency will
meet next week to formally repeal decree 89. This was announced over GRTS a
few minutes back."

May I put it to you that there ain't nothing to boast about this
pronouncement. This is a clear manifestation that the Assembly is a mere
toothless bull dog framed to service Jammeh-sponsored agenda. It is apparent
that Jammeh is the pilot of whatever goes on there. Why should the Assembly
wait for the president to give them the greenlight to repeal decree 89 or
any other decree? Their duties are stipulated and defended by the
constitution. It is suffice that allowing themselves to be manipulated by
somebody or an institution is tantamount to lacking a sense of direction.

How can you have a constitution and a decree operating together in a
democracy? These two are incompartible! Please help me comprehend this
mess. This so-called "repeal" is long overdue for the simple reason that it
is unconstitutional. So any quest to propergate this "repeal" as a
'generousity' or 'history' on the part of the president is absolute
nonesense.Instead it's a shame! Peace.

Jobs.
