I don't think that taking offense to an attempt to categorize black people should be viewed as an over reaction.  As far as I am concerned, no one should be called the N word.  And no definition or manipulation of the word can sway my opinion.  In addition, an attempt to categorize us is a direct endorsement of prejudices that we have been subjected to all through history.  Any attempt to condone this type of categorization is also akin to falling or condoning these  old stereotypes.

My reference, to the Diaspora pertains to the fact that, if we go by Saul's categorization, we can apply it to black people everywhere.  Hence, in that case, we would all be divided into three groups: Niggers, Negroes and Blacks.  Thus, it is fair to say that since this is the way he has chosen to defines us, it is an insult to every black man or woman on the face of the planet.
