George, let us try some role reversal here i.e. me of all people telling you
to take a deep breathe, drink some ‘Saul Khan Tea’ and let Tombong loose for
now. In the larger scheme of things, Tombong is a nonentity. Let us abide by
the maxim that there is no honor in beating a man that is down. Ignore
Tombong until Yaya ‘rethreads’ by appointing Tombong to another post and the
latter continues with his sycophancy. Until that happens, brother, just
ignore Tombong and the vacillating people in our midst that seem to forget
whose side Tombong really is.

I know it is frustrating trying to figure out why Gambians treat their
‘abusers’ in a certain way. But I have resolved long time ago NOT to judge
certain situations from somebody else’s perspective. That Tombong will
apparently be ‘terminated’ by Yaya and he turns around and declares
‘loyalty’ to Yaya, is nothing to these people. When Pap Cheyassin Secka was
fired by Yaya, you know what the former did? He formed an NGO, hired someone
with a Jola surname to head the NGO and then went on TV and donated 5000
dalasis to Yaya’s ‘Foundation’. See how sick these people are? We have the
inmates running the asylum in Gambia.

When Yaya ‘abuses’ these people, they do NOT get mad. Their ONLY thinking is
to craft a way of begging Yaya for another job. Look at Blaise Jagne for
instance. I also understand that Sedat Jobe (Mr. Principled Resignation) is
also begging for a job again. George, if you just consider the behavior of
certain people, you will end up giving up on the Gambian people as a whole.
So, I respectfully counsel you to ignore people that treat their enemies as
friends and their friends as enemies. I have a learnt a long time ago NOT to
pet a mad dog with rabies simply because he is a dog. When someone orders
the massacre of children as young as three, they forfeit their right to be
treated as decent human beings. Thanks again George for your invaluable
contributions.
