When the great library of 'Moutain Bunjul'was burned one book was
partially saved.A poor man bought it for 12 bututs. It was not well
translated, but it was unique. Not only was it the only writings left of the
mountain people but within its bearings it contained a thin invisible strip
of parchment on which was written the secret of the 'D-stones' .
The townstone was a small pebble that could turn any common metal into pure
gold. The writing explain that it could be found on the Guinean
shores of the black sea among billions of rocks that look exactly like
it.But the secret was this:The real stone will feel sticky while ordinary
stones are repusive to the touch. So the man sold his few belongings get some
food and H2O and camped on the seashore, and began searching among the
stones.
He knew that if he picked up ordinary stones and dropped them because they
were not sticky to the touch he might pick up the same stone hundreds of
times. So when he felt one that was not sticky he threw it into the sea.As
his hope faded,he spent days, weeks, months, years and centuries searching for
this tombstone. Yet he continued his painstaking search---pick up a stone
see if its cold, then throw it into the sea!THey had gotten so used to
discarding the stones that when they found the ONE they wanted, they still
threw it away!
'Lets us not give up our HOPE .It is the MAGIC STONE!!
Without HOPE there is nothing.Lets keep HOPE alive.Lets not throw it
away!
