Subject: Re: Yusupha Jow

KB and Hamjatta, thanks for your intervention. Like I said, this is just a
little seminar. Don't sweat it. Just stay coool!

Yusupha,

We do agree about some things: "written words do speak volumes about the
mindset of an individual." The hypocrisy and two-faced nature of your types
never cease to amaze me. What is called "honor" is not a title, but a
character trait/attribute hinged on one's behavior. And when one looks at
your's, one is forced to confront a hypocritical coward. To demonstrate my
point:

You wrote: "I refuse to call anyone names which are unfounded, based on
half-baked ideas or untruths. Personal issues are better dealt with face to
face, and not while hurling insults at one another from the luxury of our
computer desks and screens halfway across the country from
one another."

Great. I could have told you that! I wonder why you keep throwing thrash at
me. Who started this "name calling?"

You wrote:
"Before closing the chapter on this unpleasant topic, a brief talk on my
thoughts about intellectualism: The term is largely relative for who is to
say that Professor X ..."

Who is making "intellectualism" an issue? I'm very comfortable with my own
intellect, because the simple truth is, I can hold my own among any group of
educated people. What I don't know, I may no pretext that I do, but what I
know, I can present, argue or defend under any circumstances.

you wrote:
"For this reason, I do not believe in this intellectual brouhaha. As for
me, my ex-schoolmates, friends and co-workers value me for what I bring to
the table on a diverse range of topics and life
experiences..."

Who does? And you think that mine value me for something else?

You wrote:

"Instead of being paralyzed in awe of a so-called intellectual and thus
incapable of finding a separate path or line of thought, I tend to judge
individuals everywhere based on their actions, and content and nature of
their words, written or spoken..."

You just simply can't stop being self-important Yusupha! Can you? Who the
hell is "paralyzed in awe of a so-called intellectual?" I can write and
present myself as well as most so-called intellectuals, and better than
quite a few more. Does that sound like someone who would be in "awe" of a
"so-called intellectual?"

You wrote:

"For example, someone who is simple minded enough to divide African
Americans into the Nigger, Negro and Blacks categories is as ignorant and
stupid as the most ignorant of the hicks who comprise the KKK in the hills
of Indiana..."

Who could be more simple-minded and IGNORANT than someone who thinks that
ALL Americans of African decent fall into one neat category call "black?" Or
that they ALL subscribe to such a self-concept? Try telling Ward Connerly,
or William Armstrong that they have anything in common with Africans. And
how about the "black" woman (can't recall the name) who not only joined a
national KKK movt, but actually headed one, and kept proclaiming her desire
to promote issues "that would save the White race?" Just to mention a few.
These may be your "black" people, they're not mine. And on the ignorant
theme, who could be more IGNORANT than someone who has never met others, yet
proudly declares on this forum that he is "more travelled" than them. Based
on what? Our names? And YOU have the frigging nerve to talk about someone
else's "ignorance?"

You wrote:
"In the same vein, someone who writes: "I am Mandingo, I will do no harm to
my country " is a tribalist."

Lying idiot! Why don't you go back and double-check the source of this line.
These ARE NOT my words. I was quoting Rep. Johnny Ford VERBATIM, when I
spoke to him, and I've said so in the note you're quoting. This is easily
verifiable info that is a matter of public record. If you are not so hung up
on this childish wild goose chase of "finding the enemy," you won't be so
blind. So, why don't you go back and comb the archives to find some other
evidence to portray me as the narrow-minded tribalist you're looking for. In
any case, people like yourself daring to call anyone "tribalist" is like
Hitler calling Simon Wiesenthal "anti-semitic!" It's amazing how we see
ourselves in other people. It's people like yourself who hide behind others'
perceived prejudice to perpetrate what is inherently your nature: an
elitist, self-important ethnic snub, whose idea of Gambia does not extend
beyond Banjul and the Kombos. Apart from Banjul/Serrekunda, where else have
you spent a single day in the Gambia Yusupha? I tell you where I've been,
and what I speak: I lived in West Jarra, West Kiang, Serrekunda. I spent
considerable time in the Fonis, weekends in Baddibu, and made a short visit
to Bansang. I speak Mandinka, Wollof fluently. I speak and understand Jola
fairly well, as I do Aku. Can't brag much about my Fulani. Houses that your
type would call "huts," I've slept in. Not to talk about foods. Since I am
the "tribalist," why don't you tell this distro what qualifies you as the
non-tribalist.

You wrote:
"A person who alienates by making unfounded accusations against kids born
into relative wealth is a divisive one."

Absolute nonsense! Who's making "unfounded accusations against kids born
into relative wealth?" Kebba Dampha gave a very authoritive insight into
Joseph Joof's background, and his ingratitude in turning his back on public
service when he was educated by that very public's money. Fact is, there are
many Joseph Joofs out there. What I said about senior civil servants looting
public funds and sponsoring their children's education, and those children
turning around and bragging about being educated by Daddy's bona fide riches
is common knowledge in Gambia. What is "un-founded" about that? Unless if
you're suggesting that KB is lying about what he said -which isn't the case-
please tell people what is "un-founded" about this sorry national
phenomenom.

You wrote:

"One whose writing is full of hate and anger is a bitter person. And so it
goes..."

Exactly what is "hate," "anger" or "bitter" in your parlance? I most
certainly can't stand pettiness and hypocrisy -irrespective of the source.
And we do see quite a bit of that here. But who's complaining? You call
people "nigger," "bigot," and "ignorant" for their opinion, but you dare
talk about hateful, or angry writing? At the rate you're going, you'll soon
over-take your hypocrite types on this forum. And what am I "bitter" about?
Please tell us.

You wrote:
"...Life is a constant leaning experience and anyone who think they are all
knowing is a damn fool."

Great line, but empty words don't do anyone any good. If you believe these
Bob Marley lines, how come your behavior consistently flies in the opposite
direction to what Bob is saying? You declared on this very forum that you
know more about Harlem than myself and Omar Drammeh, though you lack the
faintest idea who we are. So what are you per Bob Marley?

You wrote:
"Intellectualism is an absurd term to me that really holds very little
merit. Striving from my experiences in life to be wise and clairvoyant is
much more important to me than some silly intellectual muscle flexing
exercise."

You just can't get over your self-importance, can you? Who said anything
about "flexing intellectual muscle?"

You wrote:
"I simply do not have time to waste on personal issues or vendettas with
anyone."

Interesting character, you really are Yusupha. This issue (black, negro,
nigger) happened in 1999, why on earth would you bring that up now if you're
not hung up on "personal issues or vendettas." Is there anything about you
that is real. I mean is it possible for you to stop being a goddamn
hypocrite?

You wrote:
"The struggle for a better Gambia is bigger than me or anyone else
for that matter."

You preaching to the choir here! That's exactly why ALL the mess that gave
us Yaya Jammeh need to be addressed.

You wrote:
"Nevertheless, the truth of the matter is that the printed word speaks
volumes about the mindset of an individual. And because of this,
the enemy is clear and exposed."

Indeed it does. I called you a coward, and lest people have the wrong idea,
let me explain. Just like in '99, you kept throwing your crap at me while I
ignored you. When I made it clear that I won't put up with it anymore, you
changed colors and declared that "you've made your peace with Saul and
Omar." And that declaration didn't stop you from throwing more garbage at me
intermittently. The last two provocations are the latest in your dastard
games. So, as long as I am lying down, you keep pounding me. But when I
stand up to fight back, you play nice. How cowardly! And this isn't the only
time. When myself and Hamjatta were debating Halifa Sallah, you made
comments in his favor. But when that same Halifa Sallah proposed a
"Commission" to look into the student murders last year, you were the first
to respond with an insult. Only you didn't address it to anyone -as if
people won't notice. That is what cowards do! If you disagree with Mr.
Sallah's posture on any issue, why not address him directly. That's what
myself, and many others do. But, your types keep putting on this phony "nice
guy" bullshit while you surreptitiously disparrage others -as long as you're
hiding behind some cover. What hypocrisy! How phony can anyone be?

Tommorrow, I'll explore the role of Satang Jow in the mess that The Ministry
of Education is today. And of course, we'll give Yaya's version of why he
had to kick out the woman. You invited me to talk about "where you come
from," we'll see where that is.

Saul.
