Consumed by power and arrogance the president shouts from the pilpit words
that baffled and embarassed every Gambian worthy of his or her salt. But he
did not go unchallenged, for in Gambia still are dignified people who are
ready and willing to square it with any one that intends to negate basic
human rights, such principled and unflinching people are found in all walks
of life. Responding to Jammeh's rants is one Pa Nderry, Pa have clearly
articulated the feelings, despondency and frustration besieging all
patriotic Gambians. In his capacity as secretary general of the GPU, he have
rigthly and categorically made it clear that our rigths for freedom of
speech is non negotiable at the cost of any price, they the journalist and
gopefully the public are willing to go to the wire on this occassion. This
is a very difficult position to find oneself in, but then it is all the
making of King Jammeh, he presumes that no one should challenge his
authority, his word should be enacted as law without question, what a
preposterous presumption.

In the wise words of Halifa Sallah he truly needs advice and the sooner he
seeks it the better, otherwise Gambia will move to a new phase of
contradiction which may lead to the unknown. I hope the wise words should
counsel his conscience.
