Ous,

Just like Mr. Sanneh intimated, this is a very important milestone in US-
Gambian relations and offers us a lot of opportunities. I hope all the
players, particularly The Gambian Government and Gambian Business persons
would do all they can to take this further. I am very much convinced that
even the government's best spokesperson could not have delivered a better
speech. I like both the tone and content of the speech and I hope critics
of the government would take cue from the speech and have a re-think about
their perception of the government and how to engage it possitively for the
good of all.

Like I have always said, development is a process and not an event. It
takes time, hardwork and also needs our collective effort. Already the
construction of the new airport and all the improvements and additions
being done have resulted in more flights into the country, thus creating
more jobs and more revenue in terms of landing fees for the GCAA.

Mr. Sanneh, I know both Ambassador McDonald and Mr. Abdoulie Touray mean
very well for the country and they seem to get on well. However people like
you can still continue to urge them on. Please extend my best wishes to
your family.

Have a good day, Gassa.
